MFCS'98 Workshop on Cellular Automata
A Satellite Workshop to MFCS'98
August 25-27, 1998, Brno, Czech Republic
| |
|
|
||
| The Aim | Cellular Automata have attracted a lot of attention recently. Progress
has been made in several areas and new topics have been brought up for
further research. The aim of the workshop is to allow for an exchange
of ideas, to highlight new approaches and results (as well as
problems), and to present them to a broader audience in the MFCS/CSL'98
environment.
|
|
| Topics |
Suggested topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
cellular automata as models of parallelism,
computational complexity of cellular automata,
cellular automata as dynamical systems,
cellular automata as complex systems,
cellular automata models for real phenomena (in physics, biology, etc.),
algebraic properties of cellular automata,
cellular automata machines,
generalizations of cellular automata,
modelling interactive behaviour with cellular automata.

| Paper Submission |
Authors are invited to send one copy of an extended
abstract not exceeding ten pages to the PC chair. Electronic
submissions in the form of a LaTeX (preferred) or postscript file are
encouraged and can be sent to
ca-mfcs98@ira.uka.de.
Submissions are to be received before June 5, 1998. Authors
will be notified of acceptance by June 29, 1998.

| Talks |
The final list of all talks of the
workshop is now available with links to postscript files of the papers
(where available).
For more details please consult the program of MFCS.
|
|
||
| Proceedings |
Preliminary proceedings in the form of a technical report of the
University of Karlsruhe will be available at the workshop. The final
version for it should be sent before August 1, 1998.
The final form of publication of the accepted papers depends on their
number and quality. Various possibilities are under consideration,
including the publication as a special issue of a refereed journal.
The workshop will be organised at the same place as the federated
CSL/MFCS'98
conference and care will be taken that participants
of the workshop can attend invited talks of CSL/MFCS conferences.
|
|
||
| Registration and Fees |
No special registration fee will be required for participants
of the CSL/MFCS'98 conference.
